Identify funding
At the overall strategic planning level, overall sources of funding should be identified. If such sources are lacking, it may be necessary to include goals for developing stable funding in the plan. Portions of plan implementation may need to be made contingent on developing stable funding. Other portions of the plan may be made contingent on procuring grant funding.
Potential sources of funding include:
- Gas Tax
- City Wide Assessment District
- Grants
- Community groups
- Fines from Ordinance Violations
- Tree removal permit mitigation fees
- General Fund
At the work plan level, annual and multi-year budgets should be developed to cover the projected activities. These budgets are supplementary to the plan, but budget projections can play a role in shaping annual work plans. Within the overall goals of the management plan, it may be possible to accelerate or defer specific management activities based on available budget.
