Strategic plan

The issues and trends identified through the assessment process can be presented in bullet fashion under appropriate topic headings, e.g. Tree Resources, Management, and Community. Goals and objectives identified in the "What do you want" analysis are listed below issues and trends by the appropriate topic areas. For each objective, actions are listed which address how the objectives will be realized.

A typical organization of the strategic plan is shown in outline form below. The strategic plan can be organized in any other way that is appropriate for the plan. In addition, the strategic plan may be placed at a different point in the final plan than is shown in the outline page. In some plans, it is placed after the introduction.

  • Adopt an appropriate goal and timetable for increasing overall canopy cover within the City of Rocklin.
  • Establish canopy cover goals for open space lands, residential areas, commercial parking lots, public facilities (including parks and schools), city-maintained parkways, and other major land use categories that will contribute to attainment of the overall canopy cover goal. ...
