Plan approval / adoption
Whether the plan is being developed for a city or for a site such as an office park, it will need to be approved by the entity that approves budget expenditures (e.g. City Council, Board of Directors, Owner).
Approval and adoption of the final plan should be a given if you have conducted the plan development process effectively. The decision makers who will approve the plan should already be well aware of the plan and its importance and should be ready to approve it.
Having an approved urban forest management plan is really a starting point rather than an end point. You will need to implement the plan in order to accomplish your goals. This requires ongoing financial and administrative support. As you proceed to developing the implementation plan, you need to maintain your momentum. The buy-in and commitment that the decision makers have for the plan needs to be extended to approving the budget needed to take action.
